Theme Description (Flavor)
In a town shrouded in paranoia, nothing is as it seems. In Identity Crisis, every player is haunted by doubt, with no one knowing who—or what—they truly are. Will the Good team uncover the truth, or will the Evil team lead them deeper into the web of lies? One thing is certain: nothing is as it appears.
Mechanical Goals of Script
The core concept of the script is to have multiple roles that think they are certain characters but are not. Figuring out players’ true identities can pose some interesting puzzles to solve.
Key Notes
This script is Trouble Brewing on extreme difficulty and is intended for veterans. It is a lot of fun, but it can be mentally taxing. Not for the faint of heart.
Key Characters
Washerwoman – A key role at assisting other players to determine their identity.
Lookout – An incredibly powerful role to help determine the game state. Detects Lunatic, Drunk, Marionette, and Imposter.
Undertaker – An essential role in discovering players’ true identities.
Inquisitor – Another character to help solve for player identities.
Ravenkeeper – Also useful for learning a player’s true identity.
Virgin – Even more useful than in Trouble Brewing. If a player manages to be executed to the Virgin, it confirms that they are not a Drunk, Marionette, or Imposter.
Lunatic – An absolute agent of chaos, especially if you think you are the Puppeteer!
Drunk – Core to the script and another form of misinformation.
Marionette – Probably the most significant character in this script. Expect players to regularly gaslight you into thinking you are their Marionette.
Legion – Legion cranks the chaos of this script to the max! Legion players will consistently tell you that you are their Marionette, or perhaps they will claim that they were awoken in the night to learn they are the good Imposter.
Puppeteer – You have strength in numbers, but it may be challenging to convince your Marionettes that you are their Demon.
Imposter – A tricky demon to hunt down, as it requires you to kill both Imposters to win.
